GPU 127/890AS Triplet APO OTA

The heart of this telescope is a modern, fluorite-glass based oil-spaced triplet APO design, which is common to all current GPU lenses. It is designed to make a telescope with excellent transportability, large field of view, and the best possible optical performance. The images are color free, and the total thickness of the lens has increased only about 13% (compared to the GPU 127/1200). As a result, the cooldown speed is still excellent. When observing deep sky objects, we can achieve a large field of view in the sky (due to the short focal length), and the shorter telescope tube makes the scope easier to transport and mount. Possibly, this lens is an ideal choice for amateur astronomers who want fast and well corrected optics in a well transportable telescope, featuring all the advantages of the oil spaced design. The minimal number of air-to-glass surfaces (all coated with modern multi coatings) guarantee excellent wavefront quality and maximal light transmission.

All the optical materials and optimization methods used in this lens were the same as in the case of the GPU 127/1200, so, everybody who found the GPU 127/1200 well optimized, should find this lens similar. The only real difference is the focal ratio.
