GPU 140/1200 Triplet APO OTAThis super planetary telescope is another variation of our good old oil spaced design, but features even more aperture. The results are more resolution and brigher images. When we finish a scope like this and test it under the starry sky for the first time, often we observe Encke's division in Saturn's ring system, and the images of Jupiter are simply incredible. The scope is also excellent for deep sky observations, due to the high contrast and the amount of light collected. Brighter globular clusters are resolved into stars even in the core region, and planetary nebulae show details that would require significantly larger mirrors to be noticed.This telescope is also popular among CCD imagers, because the longer focal length means larger image scale. As there is only a small amount of field curvature present, for average size CCD chips there is no need to use a field flattener (but our field flattener can naturally be used with this lens).
